Postdated entry: Sept 24th

Here is another post dated entry! As you can tell, i've been meaning ot start up a blog page for a while...and I had to make this entry into either my N95 or E63. So much thoughts run through my mind that I'll give a $5 bill for it to slow down some! So here is the entry...verbatim!; "I have been havN paranoia thoughts lately when I'm in the subway....I truly hope it passes away cos it stays constant till I leave the station."

Clearly, I had this feeling/notion because it was a week or two after the 8th year anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. I was living in NY...high school upstate...when it took place. One of my classmates lost her father in one of the towers. It was truly a sad time in NY. And coming back to NY to live since I left in the Fall of 03 was a minor setback and a feeling that I had to get used to.

A QUICK UPDATE!!! Since this entry, I feel somewhat safer taking the trains because NY believe it or not is one of the safest cities in the world. Even though its over crowded, you will always find at least one patrol car or a couple of NY police officers. I will commend Mayor Bloomberg for that.

Postdated: September 17th

You ever seen a male New Yorker with so much swag you were ready to put him in a store front somewhere??! Well, I ran into one on September 17th...memorable enough that i had to save this info on my dear Nokia E63! And I'll quote: "I finally seen a [good looking guy] wearn an owtfit...da perfect height....nikes and some damn Levis! smh! 2day has been a gr8 day!!!"

I enjoy observing people's style when i'm on the train. I try to do it surreptitiously of course. With the fake Gucci's and Louis Vuitton sold from China town up to SOHO, its hard to tell who's wearing the real stuff and who is wearing the fake ish. So when I see a handsomely dressed Black brother, its natural for me to get excited about it...how well put together he is. I love riding on NYC Subway trains for real. They make my day.

Welcome to NYC Subway Chronicles

I recently moved back home to New York but this time I'll be residing in NYC. A different way of life from Upstate NY and North Carolina that I called home for 4 years. It was fun while I was there; different culture, speech patterns, style, food etc. I've always felt more at home in New York. The bright lights, city, fashion, diverse culture, and the fast paced trendsetters that step out of the subway stations or yellow cabs into a city that welcomes them with open arms. If you can make it in New York...you can make it anywhere in the world. Like the King of Pop said, "if this town is just an apple...then let me take a bite" (Human Nature).
So its in our nature to either adapt or "stick out." I've found this to be true in New York City. Especially when I'm riding the subway trains. Everyday is an interesting journey of discovery, laughter (inside of course), and moments of shaking my head.
This blog will serve as a source of fun moments on NYC subway and hopefully you will find them funny or interesting as well. It is interesting to watch the faces of the passengers from different cultures, walks of life, income range riding the subway together. When we are all on the train, it does not matter what we have on or where we are going or where we come from....we are all New Yorkers
